Member Spotlight: Daniel Grant

Unless you frequent the 5:30am, you may not know the dry, sarcastic wonder that is Daniel Grant. Allow us to enlighten you:  

 

Q: What got you into CrossFit and what made you stick around? 

A: What got me here: Hroch promised me I’d lose my dad bod. What kept me here: Becky’s constant references to “make a banana shape with your body” to explain how to do a hollow rock. 

 

Q: What has been your proudest moment in the gym? 

A: Showing up at 5:30 am, ALONE, and completing the 50 Busters WOD, all while Sadie was yelling in my face because I was the only one to yell at. Instagram has proof. 

 

Q: What is something you’re really proud of outside the gym? 

A: That I survived two half marathons. And when you add them together, that equals a full. 

 

Q:  If you had to pick one Austin restaurant to eat at for the rest of your life, which would it be? 

A: Old Thousand. No…. Uchiko. No…. Enchiladas Y Mas. Final answer. 

 

Q: What is your favorite thing about being a dad? 

A: Eating my kids’ leftover Dairy Queen blizzards. I always order them the Large. 

 

Daniel, we love kicking the day off with you. Thanks for being who you are, and sorry about all the yelling (kinda).
