Member Spotlight: Madison O’Brien

Madison is one of those members who isn’t afraid of a hard workout, who always has a story up her sleeve, and who will happily hear any coaching cue as an opportunity to improve. Basically, Madison is a ray of sunshine with a midwest accent.Q: Why did you join CrossFit Renew? A: I joined CrossFit Renew because I wanted to challenge myself and I wanted to be pushed past what I found my limits to be!Q: What skills are you working on now? A: I want to work on so many things, but I feel like right now my focus is getting my upper body stronger. A huge goal of mine is being able to do push-ups and pull ups with ease. I’ve never had much upper body strength, so it’s nice seeing that I am gaining some strength!Q: What motivates you to keep coming to Renew? A: I think what motivates me is wanting to look and feel better. I love the classes and the atmosphere. I have noticed that my push-ups have gotten better, and that I’m able to do more at a time.Q: Why were you living in Hawaii and what is your favorite part about your time there? A: I was living in Hawaii because I was doing an internship with Pacific Rim Conservation working on a seabird translocation project! My favorite part was the views -- having mountains on one side and ocean on the other was just awesome!Q: What is something in your life outside of CrossFit that you are passionate about?A: Outside of CrossFit I am super passionate about animal conservation and sustainability. I hope to one day work with animals doing rescue and rehabilitation!SEE? A RAY OF FRICKIN’ SUNSHINE. Madison, we love you, your hard-working heart, and your passion in and out of the gym.
