We have 2 weeks left in our deadlifting cycle. How are you holding up? As you may have noticed, last week we had you work up to your 1RM, doing three singles at 100%. I am sure some of you thought "That is not going to happen, I could barely lift that one time a few weeks ago". Hopefully this strength cycle has produced strength and positive results, allowing you to lift that 1RM with less effort than before. The goal is that you would hit a new 1RM at the end of this cycle, which is why we have you lifting your old 1RM during these sets. The leaderboard below shows the top five men and women in our box, with the heaviest lift. This 1RM is the weight they hit at the beginning of the cycle.
Here are some extra details, regarding the leaderboard above.Steven Crawford posted this 1RM over a year ago in BTWB. I am sure he current 1RM is higher than 425, and I am excited to see what his new PR is after this deadlifting cycle!Sadie Flynn has recently re-tested her 1RM, hitting 285, which puts her in the overall lead for the ladies! However, 255 was her 1RM at the start of this cycle. Just a side note, she hit 285 on a sprained ankle, so I have a feeling Sadie will be joining the 300 club in two weeks! You've got this Sadie!Last week Jess hit three sets at 240, which is only 5lbs less than her 1RM.In addition we have had some exciting accomplishments that are not reflected on the leader board. Cara Griswold's previous PR was 155, however she has currently hit 165, making a 6.5% increase in her deadlift! This is a HUGE increase in a very short amount of time.Josh Rhodes old PR was 275, however he has currently hit 315. Another huge jump in a short amount of time.I cannot wait to see how much improvements all of you have in the weeks to come. Make sure you are tracking your weights on Beyond the Whiteboard. Continue to stretch before and after lifting, eating foods that aid recovery, doing your accessory work, and resting well. You are all killing it!Whit
