Member Spotlight: Jordan Clarke

Jordan (on the right) is a recent Austin transplant and has jumped right into Renew’s community! She is consistent, she is strong, and she is a constant encouragement to everyone around her. Strap in for Jordan’s Member Spotlight:Q: Why did you start CrossFit?A: Some friends of mine in Nashville kept telling me about their gym and how much they loved the classes and the community!! In 2017, I had been looking for a way to get in shape and start working out more so I decided to try it for a month as a New Years deal the gym offered and I fell in love with it!Q: What's your favorite thing about it?A: I love the community and how welcoming everyone is! I have always looked at my gym as my Fit Fam and when I moved to Austin I knew that’s what I wanted was the community!! I love that it constantly challenges me mentally and physically every workout! As a college athlete I love competition and CrossFit gives me that competition but also with constant encouragement and support from everyone else! There isn’t really anything I dislike about CrossFit... except maybe ALL running workouts.Q: What is one thing you've learned about yourself in your time at the gym? A: I’ve learned that I will always have room to grow and that there are always things that I can improve on!! I have also learned that I can do anything if I work hard at it and push myself!! I never thought in my life I would ever be able to pull ups or even RX pushups before starting CrossFit but I have been able to do both things so the possibilities are endless!Q: You're still relatively new to Austin, so what's the first Austinite thing you want to do when things open up again? A: I want to enjoy the food and music scene more. Coming from Nashville I definitely love food and music so I can’t wait to explore all the festivals and concerts that Austin offers once things return to normal!Q: What is something you're looking forward to for the future?A: I want to continue to build friendships at the gym and meet new people!! Moving to Austin hasn’t been the easiest for me but I have thoroughly enjoyed developing friendships and gaining workout buddies at Renew!! That has been a huge positive during this crazy time and I definitely look forward to those friendships growing!!!Damn, if this doesn’t put pep in your step then nothing will. Jordan! We’re so glad you chose us as your Texas gym fam. We’re so looking forward to watching you grow roots here! We love you!
